It's hard to think about Halloween when it's blazing hot and the kids aren't in school yet, but costumes are already in stores and sell quickly. Check out some of my favorite retailers' costume selections.
Gymboree's costumes, which start at about $30, are cute and can often double as dress up clothes. This year's costume line includes train conductor and glow worm for baby boys, doctor and frontier explorer for kid boys, bumble bee and flower fairy for baby girls and kitty cat and flapper for kid girls.
Pottery Barn Kids boasts a diverse Halloween line for babies, toddlers and kids, which includes pumpkin, panda, ladybug tutu, gorilla, hamburger, cupckae and octopus costumes that start at around $30. They also offer puppy, flower and polar bear costumes exclusively for babies up to 12 months old. PBK also sells cute treat bags, many of which match their costumes, for $12. Personalizing a treat bag with your little ghoul's name runs an additional $6.50.
In Fashion Kids carries a huge selection of Halloween costumes for babies, toddlers, kids and teens. With prices starting at around $15, the site's costume selection is diverse and includes items by Le Top and Mullins Square. While most of the costumes for babies and children are adorable, many of those sold in the preteen and teenage category are too risque for my taste.
For his first Halloween, we bought our little guy an adorable train conductor costume, complete with red bandana and cap, from Gymboree. I would have loved to put him in an animal costume, but it's too hot in Texas for a faux fur bodysuit!
